The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the Chapter’s outreach to military families and volunteer development in the community supporting the growth of our Services to Armed Forces throughout the Chapter’s 9 county service area.
Key responsibilities include coordinate and staff military briefings and events including pre and post deployment. Establish and facilitate monthly Military Family Network meetings. Assist lead SAF Caseworker with development of Military Resource Guide. Promote favorable public relations and work with local community partners to grow support of the American Red Cross Services to Armed Forces program. Maintain all required documents and support for reporting of SAF Grant.
Position requires an associate’s degree with relevant organizational experience, or the equivalent combination in education and experience. In addition strong interpersonal/human relations and communication skills including being comfortable presenting to individuals or groups of people is a must. Knowledge of Armed Forces/Military highly preferred. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential. Must possess the ability to work independently, effectively manage volunteers, tasks and deadlines, and be a strong contributor in a team environment. Limited travel may be required; hours may include limited evenings and weekends.
This position is grant funded through May 31, 2010 with the possibility to extend the position depending on funding.

American Red Cross of Central Texas, Database Administrator (Part-Time) - The successful candidate will handle the maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database. Must be able to run weekly reports, upload gift information, verify appeals, verify constituent ID's and address information, export information into Excel. Candidate must be well organized, able to multi-task and stay focused in a dynamic environment. Willing to adjust to a demanding and changing environment where different hats are worn each day and committed to and enthusiastic about ARC’s mission and programs.
Position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years experience in financial development or other non-profit field with a minimum of 1 year experience using Raiser’s Edge. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, internet and web based applications required. Must possess a can-do attitude and be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations.

Disaster Services is seeking a volunteer to be our point-person on-call to coordinate Red Cross DAT responses with EMS, Fire Dept., OEM, and Law Enforcement personnel; plus coordinate with Disaster Action Team (DAT) Leaders; and assist Disaster / DAT Leaders (by phone and/or PC) on disaster deployments, and notify Chapter Staff by phone/email of DAT Deployments. Additionally this person will remain “on-call” by phone or pager during their scheduled shift. On Call Instructor
Super-communicators sought to teach lifesaving skills to the Central Texas community. The Red Cross prepares for disasters of all size by training individuals to react and respond. Classes include First Aid, CPR, child care, Water Safety, and Lifeguarding just to name a few. Daytime availability is preferred.
Pay: $10/hr. Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED, American Red Cross certified instructor in CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding/Water Safety, professional behavior, patience, willingness to learn new things, and enthusiasm for the mission of the Red Cross.
