Dear Friends,

Thank you to all the friends and volunteers who came out to be seen, heard and recognized at our recent events, like the Volunteer Awards, Back To School Health Fairs, bettysport event and more. It was great to see you all there!

We're kicking into high gear as the IBM Uptown Classic on October 18 draws ever closer! Be sure to read about our volunteer needs below, and how to register for the race. There's even a Kids' 1K this year!

And while you're preparing to don your race shirt, remember that September is National Preparedness Month.

ANTONE'S PRESENTS: RED and WHITE and BLUES Bash
WHITE DENIM at Antone's Nightclub
Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Doors 8pm/Show 9pm
Advance tickets available at www.antones.net
$10 advance tickets

Don't miss this huge event with WHITE DENIM, just home from their European tour, on Wednesday September 23, 2009. White Denim's red hot sound has not only taken Austin by storm but their music has translated across the oceans!

Antone's and the Red Cross are proud to partner together with White Denim to raise awareness of all that the Red Cross does in Central Texas and beyond. Clifford Antone was a huge supporter of the Red Cross and Antone's wants to continue his passion for this amazing charity organization.

White Denim has toured extensively, playing shows including SXSW and CMJ Music Marathon, and also received the award of "Best New Band" at the 2008 Austin Music Awards. In order to reach European listeners, the band signed to UK record label Full Time Hobby (home to The Hold Steady and Viva Voce) for an overseas release. The first release on Full Time Hobby was the single "Let's Talk About It" with "Darksided Computer Mouth". On June 23, 2008, the band released its debut album, the Workout Holiday LP, which consists of re-recorded songs from the band's first two self-released EPs along with some new tracks. The band has since released two more singles in Europe off of Workout Holiday: "All You Really Have To Do" with "DCWYW" and "Shake Shake Shake" with "All Truckers Roll".

Back in the US, White Denim released their debut US full-length LP, entitled Exposion in late 2008. White Denim, along with Transmission Entertainment, have created a new digital record company that allows fans to buy music directly from the band. Buyers have the option of purchasing a digital copy (MP3 or FLAC format) of the album, as well as 12" and 7" copies. If fans want more, they can pay for a subscription into the White Denim fan club, which not only buys them digital and hard copies of the album, but also a collection of unreleased digital live tracks and unreleased materials.

White Denim's third full-length album, entitled Fits, was released via Full Time Hobby on June 22, 2009. The record was initially release in Europe only, but after signing their first US record deal with Downtown Records on July 10, the band plans to release Fits in the Fall of 2009.
