plus encourage potential volunteers to join the team.

have 100-200 words about why you volunteer for the Red Cross, and
please include your stories from events or disasters you have worked.
We will post this on the volunteer
section of the website with an eye to
starting a volunteer blog that you can directly contribute to!

BEST BUY ENCOURAGES TEENS TO TAKE ACTION
Each
quarter, Best Buy's @15 Change Exchange campaign encourages teens ages
13 - 18 to take both online and offline action to earn points on their
community Web site. From July 15 - July 30, teens can donate their
points to one of four charities, including the American Red Cross.
Votes will be tallied proportionally and $250,000 will be divided among
the four charities. Encourage the teenagers in your life to take part
by signing
up here and donating their points to
the Red Cross.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Regal Cinemas FREE Kids Summer Movie Series
Tuesday, 8/4 - Arbor
When school's out, kids around the country visit selected Regal
theatres for the Free Family Film Festival. It's a fun-filled nine
weeks of movies for kids and parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided
this service to the community, and best of all it's FREE! Plus the Red
Cross will be there to talk about classes and have lots of FREE
giveaways! Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and
Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is
limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe,
lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the
summer.

the Austin Toros, Austin Adventure Boot Camp, Chirofit Wellness Center,
Endeavor Rehab, Neighborhood Harvest Project, Neighborhood Sports and
Seton Healthcare Network (AND MANY MORE!) to present great interactive
activities too!
All-American Volunteer Celebration and Annual Meeting

Our Central Texas Red Cross volunteers, board, and staff are as
all-American as baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie. On Sunday, August
23, we'll celebrate with all three! We'll have a short annual meeting
at 4 pm followed by an early dinner and volunteer awards. Then we'll
catch the ballgame and watch the Round Rock Express take on the Memphis
Redbirds (Game time 6:05 pm)
Please plan to join us and bring your whole family. We want to meet
them too!
